About Us
Bloomsbury Youths' management is limited to a modest structure, as the establishment is growing and we, therefore, remain a close working unit. We have planned our strategy to ensure that we use experience and competence to ensure that we build our reputation to a very high standard, as we aim to be a force in the care industry and known for quality service provision by dedicated staff at all levels.
At Bloomsbury Youths, we pride ourselves on our experienced management staff, with wide-ranging social work/social care backgrounds and also endowed with knowledge of child development and child protection experience.
We have built a friendly and experienced team to operate our service in the children's individual care and support needs, to ensure their safety, wellbeing and happiness within the home and their wider lives.
We task our organisation to Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and we support them in achieving improvement in their health, education, and overall development in our supported accommodation in Ashford, Kent, through the expertise of staff with a proven work record.
Our Ethos
At Bloomsbury Youths, our ethos is based on the belief that all children and young people should have access to equal opportunities in life, regardless of their starting points, early life experiences, background, age, gender, or sexuality. We believe all young people should be loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm, and able to develop, thrive, and fulfil their potential.
We achieve this by working systemically; in practice, this is a child-focused intervention that seeks to make sense of the world through all the relationships the child may have. By extending ourselves and acknowledging our role and influence in the child’s life, we are able to deepen our understanding of their world to make a meaningful difference.
Our home offers children and young people a nurturing environment where they can develop effective and lasting relationships, both within the home and in the local community. It is hoped that living within established communities will support young people in developing their social skills and building resilience to aid their preparation for the transition to independence.
We will ensure that all key developmental areas—health, education, emotional and personal development, family and social relationships, identity, self-care, and social presentation—are addressed in the planning for each young person.
Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to create a caring, supportive, safe and secure home environment, in which young people are encouraged to develop their full potential and to foster resilience. We aim to treat each young person as an individual, recognising their different needs and celebrating their strengths. We strive to develop all the young people’s capabilities whilst promoting their self-worth and self-esteem. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, caring and stimulating environment for young people, where issues and concerns affecting both their past and their futures can be positively addressed and supported. Working in partnership with each young person, their families and other professionals, we endeavour to enhance each young person’s achievement possibilities, raise levels of self-confidence and self-belief and create opportunities to learn, develop and achieve.
